Simple Lifestyle and Dietary Changes Stopped Aggressive Prostate Cancer; 36% Did Not Need Further Treatment

A study conducted at Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridgeshire found that, for almost 40% of aggressive prostate cancer sufferers, surgery and radiotherapy treatments which were planned were not needed after the men made simple changes to their lifestyle and dietary habits.

Not only did the changes slow the growth of the cancers, they even stopped it altogether in some cases. According to the researchers, there is no reason why these positive effects could not apply to other types of cancer.

The study had involved 110 men who had aggressive prostate cancer. Using a Prostate Specific Antigens (PSA) test, they tracked the state of the disease. PSA levels typically increase as tumors grow.

The lifestyle changes made in the study included:

* consumption of more oily fish (which is rich in omega 3 fatty acids)
* cutting down salt intake
* cutting down alcohol intake
* undertaking moderate exercise
* losing weight

In addition, some of the study subjects were made to consume vitamin and mineral supplements. Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the study’s findings revealed no benefit for these supplements.

But the very simple lifestyle and dietary changes recommended actually caused PSA levels to stabilize or even drop for some of the prostate cancer sufferers. 40 of them, or about 36%, actually did not require further treatment!

This shows us that healthy lifestyle and dietary habits can not only prevent cancer, but they can also help reverse cancer!

And these are just basic changes. Imagine if we threw in powerful herbs, more sunshine, more fruits and vegetables, emotional work, stress reduction, etc, too!
